NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up to establish and operate accreditation programme for healthcare organizations. Formed in 2005, it is the principal accreditation for hospitals in India. NABH standards focus on patient safety and quality of the delivery of services by the hospitals in the changing healthcare environment. Without being prescriptive, the objective elements remain informative and guide the organisation in conducting its operations with focus on patient safety.

The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) is an autonomous body under the guidance of the Dept. Of Science & Technology, Govt. of India whose purpose is to provide accreditation to testing and calibration of clinical laboratories in the country.

It is the sole accreditation body authorized by the Govt. of India that provides a third-party assessment of quality and technical competence of labs. NABL also shares links with Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation.NABL accreditation is recognized and valid through all the major economies of the world, and by all regulators in India.

Joint Commission International accreditation and certification (JCI) is recognized as a global leader for health care quality of care and patient safety.By developing and maintaining international standards for health care quality and patient safety, they address the unique challenges of preserving quality care as patients move across the care continuum. Standards are developed and organized around important functions common to all health care organizations. The functional organization of standards is now the most widely used around the world and has been validated by scientific study, testing, and application.JCI is standard bearer for The Gold Seal of Approval®, a universally recognized symbol of quality and patient safety.

The College of American Pathologists (CAP), the leading organization of board-certified pathologists, serves patients, pathologists and the public by fostering and advocating excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine worldwide.The Program’s goal is to improve patient safety by advancing the quality of pathology and laboratory services through education, standard setting and ensuring laboratories meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
